Another deception technique in Viam Chao is called ludifico, which is latin for hoax. It is basically a fake or a feint.

The purpose of a fake or a feint is to goad the opponent into reacting to the false maneuver so you can take advantage of the response in a way that benefits you. Performing a successful ludifico also helps during the "feeling out" phase on an interaction, so you can test how your opponent reacts, their timing, speed, and look for other flaws that might give you an advantage.

Beyond throwing out false moves or bluffs is the act of faking injury, distraction, fear, inexperience, etc.
